Coordinated activities at European, national and institutional level, such as: -Building, connecting and enhancing systems for exchange and long term storing of digital data in accordance with the FAIR principles Open Science initiative needs: -Ensuring the inter-operation of the national and European policies, practices and infrastructures related to open science, incl. EOSC -Coordination of all participants in the process the citizens, researchers, business, RO s, HEI s, RI s -Stimulating active participation of all in the initiative - Popularizing the initiative among wide public

  3. Bulgaria has a National Open Science Plan since January 2021. It sets out the strategic goals, necessary steps and the instruments for implementation of the OS initiative It will carry out the OS culture to become the standard practice. It will: The National Open Science Plan 2021-2025 quality of research results - Accelerating the knowledge transfer and innovation - Research results will reach the citizens and business fast and this will encourage their involvement in research and innovation activities - Introduce new opportunities and help coping with the global challenges - Increase the effectiveness of funding, transparency and the

Maintain a trusted infrastructure for Open access to publications and data; Create incentives for researchers and organizations to adopt Open science practices; Priorities of NOSP Align national and institutional OA policies and practices; Promote OA practices and foster new skills and competences.

  5. Building and development of the BOSC the single entry point to access the institutional repositories What steps were taken to put the plan into practice? Creating national repositories in accordance with OpenAIRE and create skills and competences to work with them and with BPOS National Program for stimulating publication activities of researchers and increasing the number of publications in BPOS was approved New transformative agreement with Elsevier was signed

  6. Covers a three and a half period of time (2022-2025). Aims to: stimulate the publication activity of the researchers and increase the number of their scientific publications in the global databases Web of Science or Scopus; promote the culture of sharing scientific information with OA. National program aimed to induce publication activity Beneficiaries (HEIs and ROs) have to be registered in BPOS as a content provider. The new agreement is for the period 2022-2025; It offers an extended scope of the subscription; "Open Access" pilot project; Elsevier The service grants the right to publish open access articles in the main hybrid journals owned by Elsevier and published by the publisher; agreement - Open access pilot project Bulgarian researchers may publish a specified number of OA articles without a publication fee; 2022- 100 2023-180 June 2022 2024-260 In case the maximum number of articles per subscription year is reached, the agreement provides the preferential prices.
