Interim Quality Mark Process agreed by steering group Based on Gold standard Mandatory criteria Additional criteria 80% minimum requirement Valid for two years from approval Central point of contact for management Self-assessment by organisations Assessment and award of quality mark through regional leads - monthly Run in parallel with CapitalNurse Quality Mark

Mandatory Criteria Ten mandatory criteria Current policy Applies to all new registrants (nurses, NAs, RTWs, International) Minimum length of 12 months Meetings between preceptor and preceptee Protected time for preceptor Protected time for preceptee Preceptorship lead in place Preceptor development programme Formal structured programme of learning Annual evaluation of programme

Supplementary Criteria Seven supplementary criteria 80% Preceptors of equal level or senior to preceptee Minimum of two weeks or 75 hours supernumerary Support network for preceptors Preceptor allocated to NRP within two weeks of start Preceptorship champions Senior responsible officer within organisation Additional development for preceptees

Interim Quality Mark Process Complete self-assessment form (MS Forms or Excel) available on website at https://workforceskills.nhs.uk/projects/nhse-i-national- preceptorship-programme-2022/ RAG rating for organisation status against each criteria Include indicators of evidence to support rating for each criteria Submit to Central Point of Contact (CPOC) via Forms or via email to NPPquality@Tavi-Port.nhs.uk CPOC will advise evidence required to support Send evidence to CPOC Submission then sent to Regional Lead (RL) for assessment

Role of Regional Lead (RL) Upon receipt of application and supporting documents, the Regional Lead and their review team will; Assess and review the application and supporting information in line with the criteria Ensure equity in assessment of all submissions Request any additional evidence or clarification if required Inform the CPOC of outcome

  11. What happens next? The CPOC will inform the organisation of the outcome If the quality mark is awarded; Organisations will be provided with the quality mark logo and a certificate We will advertise the list of organisations who have achieved the quality mark on our website If the quality mark is not awarded; You will be provided with a reason why You will be directed to further support and advice prior to re-submitting
