When you dont have a job, how does it work The Netherlands is a care state. In general, you get support when it is needed. In care and in money. Untill 18 years, we expect our youth to go to school and be supported by their parents. When you are 67 years, you don t need to work anymore. The state gives you a small pension and when you have had a job, you receive additional pension. Between 18 and 27 we stimulate people to educate themselves by our well organised educational institutions Between 18 and 67, we expect people to work and pay taxes.

We have about 3.600 residents who receive social assistance (money). What does Tiem do Tiem helps residents to find work, or study or support people to take steps in that direction. We have a big network of employers and entrepeneurs. We have our own production company. We also work together with partners in our city who have special knowlegde or activities And Tiem has got several instruments to develop people, such as: Work experience places Orientation and education programs Coaching Assessments Labor contracts and work (in our own company) Subsidy schemes for employers

Startbaan / StartJob Startbaan / StartJob is the name of a special kind of labor contract These are jobs for people who have received social assistance for over 2 years or longer The jobs are with employers in the city The labor contract for 1 year is with Tiem The employee is matched to one of the employers The employee gets support and coaching during work from Tiem But the nice thing is, one does not need to apply! When the resident thinks, this is a nice job and i think I can do this he/she gets the job No application letters, no job interviews, no rejections (!) With the StartJob , we give people easy access to work. Normally an employer may have not invited them.

Sustainable employability and Vitality This is a program which Tiem has developed for her empoyees as well for people who need to take steps towards finding a job. When you feel energized and up to it , it helps you to do your work or to take the first steps. It is a combination of different life aspects, for instance: To move and do physical exercise, Losing weight or stop smoking, Financially being in control, Know how to read or to do basic math, Mindfulness and mental balance But also cook and eat together and being part of a community
