  7. Concurrent and Dual Enrollment credit while in high school. 2. Must meet the requirements 3. Need to plan to have room in your schedule. One concurrent course takes the place of two periods at CAHS. 4. Mark concurrent enrollment on your form and discuss it with your counselor during your one on one conference in February . 5. Tuition is covered for up to 18 credit hours spaced over summer, fall, and spring semesters. You must pay for fees, books, and supplies. 6. Must be approved by your counselor. 7.   8. How is Dual Enrollment different? The course replaces a required high school course. Example: College English Comp 1 & 2 = HS English IV College American Federal Govt = HS Government

  9. A checklist to see if you might qualify for concurrent enrollment is available today. CAHS will host a concurrent enrollment information night on February 20 in the CAHS cafeteria beginning at 6:30. This will be during parent-teacher conferences that evening.

ICAP Requirements HB 2155 Career and college interest surveys Written postsecondary & workforce goals and progress toward goals Intentional sequence of courses Academic progress Scores on college & career ready assessments Experience in service learning and/or work environment CAHS counselors will guide you in completing these requirements by the end of your senior year.

  11. Honors/Advanced Placement Courses Please keep in mind that Honors and AP courses have higher rigor. Be wise when enrolling in these. They will take more time and effort. An AP Agreement Form must be signed by student and parent/guardian and on file before the student will be enrolled in an AP course. These forms are available today for you to pick up. You need one form for EACH AP course you plan to take. You do NOT need a teacher s signature. That is for your teacher NEXT year to sign. Turn these forms in with your enrollment form to your 3rd period teacher. You DO NOT need these forms for Honors classes.

  12. New AP Course African American Studies This course is an introduction to history, literature, the arts, geography, and science exploring contributions and experiences from African Americans beginning with ancient societies to the present. We did not have a course number for this class when forms were printed. If you are interested in this course, put it down as one of your electives.

  13. Graduation Requirements Language Arts 4 Units Mathematics 3 Units (must be taken in grades 9-12) Science 3 Units (1 unit must be Biology and one from Physical Science, Chemistry, or Physics) Social Studies 3.5 Units Foreign Language OR Computers 2 Units Additional Core Class 1 Unit (Ex: Math, Science, Foreign Language, Computers, Psychology) Fine Arts 1 Units or Sets of Competencies Electives Balance to total 23 Units Other requirements by end of senior year: Testing requirements, CPR, ICAP, Personal financial literacy requirement

  14. Science Lab Intern You can apply to be a Science Lab Intern next year. You must have good grades and attendance. Principals will check your discipline record. If approved, you will help a science teacher with labs and other things they need help with. Applications are available today. Make sure you pay attention to instructions and get the required number of recommendations. Office Intern or Teacher s Intern You can apply to be an Office Intern or Teacher s Intern next year. Application for Office Intern is available today. You must talk to the teacher you want to be an intern for, and the teacher must fill out a form to request for you to be their intern.

  15. Internship 2 Program Students will be enrolled in 2 class periods to earn internship electives Students will be placed with a Mid-Del business for the majority of the semester; must find place to do internship on your own Students will be provided with hands-on work experience while exploring career of interest. Selection Process Complete application and submit it by March 15, 2024 to Ms. Ingerly in room C257 On track for graduation Good attendance and behavior

  16. Enrollment Form (Back) ALL courses are listed on the back of the enrollment form that you are allowed to request. Descriptions of these courses are online on the Mid-Del Schools District website under Enrollment . ONLY courses on your enrollment form are the courses available for your grade.

  17. Write your Legal Name (last, first & middle) on your enrollment form Your phone number where we can reach you after school is out or before school starts in August. Your gender Parent/Guardian MUST sign form Parent/guardian email

  18. Choose courses to complete a 7 hour day even if planning on going to the tech center or doing concurrent enrollment. Counselors need course title and number. If your additional unit is math or science, then it must be signed by your current math or science teacher. If a signature is required for the elective you choose, make sure you get it. You must give us 3 alternate elective choices. A .5 unit is a semester course. A 1 unit course is a full year course. If you choose a .5 course, you must pair it with another .5 course to make a full unit. If not filled out properly, counselors will pick your classes for you.

  19. Make sure your name is on this side of the form as well. Math and science teachers can help if you need or want your additional course to be math or science next year.

  20. These are the electives for seniors to choose from. If it is not on the back of this form, don t write it down. Some require signatures. Make sure to get them! All sports require a signature (even if you have played all your life). Cheer, Pom, and Volleyball will have tryouts.

You can pick up a handout today that has more information. Don t forget to discuss this during your conference if you are wanting to take concurrent courses.

  22. FOR ALL APPLICATIONS You must have good grades and attendance. Principals will check your discipline record. Applications available today are Internship 2, Office Intern, and Science Lab Intern. Make sure you pay attention to instructions, get the required number of recommendations, and TURN THEM IN ON TIME.

  23. Fill out your enrollment form for a 7 period day even if you plan on attending the tech center or doing concurrent enrollment. If you are planning on taking courses through the Mid-Del Virtual Academy, you fill your form out as if you were going to attend in-person classes. Adjustments will be made at a later date.

  24. There will be a junior student/parent/guardian meeting the evening of February 15 in the CAHS cafeteria beginning at 6:30. Counselors will provide information for post- high school planning, preparing for college and scholarship applications, financial aid opportunities, and much more.

  25. Due Date Friday, February 9th Forms due to your 3rd Period Teacher. This includes your enrollment form, AP Agreement forms, and applications that need to be returned to the Counseling Office. If not at CAHS during 3rd period, turn in to the Counseling Office.

  26. Meeting with students individually through US History classes in February in the library. We will go over with every student: Credit checks Future plans Classes for next year ACT/SAT You will not get to choose your classes if you don t turn in an enrollment form. We may also discuss: Oklahoma s Promise NCAA/NAIA Concurrent Enrollment
