NDBC Update 2019 IOOS DMAC Meeting April 30, 2019 Dawn Petraitis National Data Buoy Center
BUFR Format to GTS Released all NDBC, IOOS, and partner data in BUFR format starting late November 2018 BUFR requires 7-digit WMO IDs 5-digit IDs are converted to 7 digits by NDBC Traditional alpha-numeric code (TAC) and BUFR released in parallel through hurricane season 2019 Working on decoding BUFR messages to feed NDBC website and GTS statistics
HF Radar Archive NDBC completed processing of HF Radar archive backlog in July 2018 Hard drive containing all files shipped to NCEI in August 2018 NCEI confirmed receipt of the hard drive in late October 2018 and stated it would take several months to complete archiving of the files
Glider Data to GTS Currently pulling data from GliderDAC ERDDAP server once per day Plan to increase pull to once per hour Will have to decouple daily glider stats report from the data pull Daily glider stats report will still be emailed daily Still plan to put the daily glider stats report on the NDBC website similar to the IOOS Auto QC report
