Network Slicing in OSM Ricard Vilalta (CTTC) Josep Martrat (ATOS)
Network Slice definitions Network slice instance: a set of network functions and the resources for these network functions which are arranged and configured, forming a complete logical network to meet certain network characteristics. Lifecycle of a Network Slice Instance Instantiation, Configuration, and Activation Run-time Decommisioning Preparation Supervision Upgrade/ Reconfiguration/ Scaling Design Pre-provision De- Instantiation/ Configuration Termination Activation activation Network environment preparation Reporting The NSI contains NFs (e.g. belonging to AN and CN) as well as all information relevant to the interconnections between these NFs like topology of connections, individual link requirements (e.g. QOS attributes), etc. The management of TN is out of scope of 3GPP and takes into account topology of required connections and individual requirements specified in 3GPP NSI. The NSI is defined by a Network Slice Template. 3GPP TR 28.801 r15
5G QoS Indicator: 5QI The 5G QoS Indicator is used in 3GPP to identify a specific QoS forwarding behaviour for a 5G QoS Flow. It defines: 3GPP TS 23.501 r15

Proposed workflow NST on-boarding NSI instantiation
Slice Manager internals Slice Lifecycle Manager (SLM): Definition and update of Network Slice Templates (NST). NSTs are then related by the Slice2NS mapper into NSDs. Once the NSD has been on- boarded, a slice instantiation request can be triggered. Slice2NS Mapper: Maintain an association between NST and NSDs identifiers, as well as an association between slice identifiers and NSI identifiers. In next releases, it might also deal with the required combination/ integration/ concatenation of Network services.
