The Way of the Manger Isaiah 43:18-19; 9:2; Luke 2:12
Do not remember the former things, or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:18 19 NRSV
For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 7 NRSV
His authority shall grow continually, and there shall be endless peace for the throne of David and his kingdom. He will establish and uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time onward and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this. Isaiah 9:6 7 NRSV
Do not remember or consider the ways things were done in the past as prime importance (Isaiah 43:28).
God does new things, in new ways, to renew us, to re-ignite us.
This will be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger. Luke 2:12 NRSV
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. Isaiah 9:2 HCSB
For God who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God s glory in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6 HCSB
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life. John 8:12 NRSV
Then God said, Let there be light, and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness. Genesis 1:3 4 HCSB
Life was in Him, and that life was the light of men. That light shines in the darkness, yet the darkness did not overcome it. John 1:4 5 HCSB
The one who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him. John 7:38 HCSB
Jesus came to renew us, re-ignite us, and redeem us through His light of life and love. Will you come to the manger?
