New Horizons LEISA PDS Review - Overview of Imaging Spectrometer
LEISA Overview Push-broom Imaging IR spectrometer covers 0.95-4 microns, scanning across the target to obtain an image cube with spectral information. The data review includes information on MU69 imaging, data display capabilities, documentation details, and certifiability conclusions for the newly released files. The analysis highlights the addition of pre-encounter data, raw and calibrated imaging, and the examination of new image cubes. Documentation folders, labeling files, and inventory descriptions are also discussed, providing insights into the overall data quality and relevance for the mission.

New Horizons LEISA PDS Review Adam McKay
LEISA Overview Push-broom Imaging IR spectrometer, covering 0.95-4 microns Scans across target to obtain image cube with spectral information
MU69! Image shows old data from previous release New data includes additional pre- encounter data, both raw and calibrated, four new image cubes total No new calibration data, some new documentation
Displaying Data For all files, able to open in both DS9 and PDSViewer4, no issues Couldn t really make out MU69 (thought maybe I saw it in first image cube), but probably just because it was faint
Documentation Most documentation in folder labeled PREVIOUSLY_RELEASED_FOR_REFERENCE , so already reviewed New files include a new collection label file and a new inventory.csv file, which looked OK New label and .tab files have info for observations of objects like Neptune from KEM2 (and also seem related to MVIC), so unclear why they are needed for this release
Conclusions Data is certifiable
