Presentation Objective For City Council to approve the construction of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Old Kings Rd at Town Center Blvd.

BACKGROUND Old Kings Road & Town Center Blvd Unsignalized Intersection Marked crosswalk for the Lehigh Trail on the Southside of the Intersection Average Daily Traffic Volumes Old Kings Rd South of Town Center Blvd 6,800 North of Town Center Blvd 7,800 Town Center Blvd East of Old Kings Rd 7,800 Experiences significant delay for motorist on Town Center Blvd during Peak Travel Times Has experienced 10 angle crashes since constructed Meets the Signal Warrants 1, 2 and 3 for Vehicular Volumes
Future Permanent Solutions Old Kings Rd 4-lane divided road Town Center Blvd realignment to the south Full Intersection Improvements with Turn Lanes and Mast Arms To be completed with Old Kings Rd Widening Project
Proposed Interim Improvements New Temporary Traffic Signal Pedestrian Signals Closing of the makeshift parking utilizing Landscaping Alternate parking available on the NE corner of the Old Kings Rd Bridge
PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS - BUDGET Budgeted Amount $200,000 Encumbered for Design - $28,835 Traffic Signal Construction - $111,000 New Landscaping & Fencing - $3,250 Contingency (10%) $11,100 Total $154,185
COUNCIL ACTION Approve Expenses in the Amount of $125,350.00 associated with the construction of a new traffic signal
