NIRISS Activities in CV3 Andr Martel NIRISS Science Team Meeting Oct 2015
Overview Goals (for NIRISS performance): 1. Characterize and verify the performance of all the modes of NIRISS (including new detector). 2. Collect data for reference files (JWST calibration pipeline, aXe, etc ). Hardware changes since CV2: new grisms (GR700XD, GR150R), new detector, new wheel motors. Important dates: Oct 21: ISIM CV3 TRR Closeout Review Oct 26: AFC/SFT and pumpdown NIRISS Science Team Meeting Oct 2015
Commanding: OTP (state tables), OSS, CECIL Illumination sources: 1. NIRISS internal lamps (FLAT1, FLAT2, LAMP1, LAMP2) 2. OTE Simulator (OSIM): a. Monochromatic sources (0.64, 1.06, 1.32, 1.55 m) b. Post-CV3 Analysis Rapid turnaround and formal documentation in order to: 1. Verify requirements. 2. Characterize and assess the performance of each mode. 3. Update or change the operations. 4. Create the final pre-flight set of calibration reference files for all modes (due 6 months after the completion of CV3). Summary Will verify and characterize all the modes of NIRISS and collect all necessary data for launch. OTP number of exposures: > 850 (all of CV2: ~1230) OTP number of integrations: > 4830 (all of CV2: ~10900) Mechanism usage (current tests; no repeats; OSS separate) 1. Test Planning Tool: 85% (PW) and 75% (FW) of allocation 2.
