Project Goals Using elements of the EERC framework on non-degree credential quality, the project examines quality in community college noncredit program offerings across a range of occupations and industries. The project also explores the landscape of noncredit program offerings and how students navigate them.

Identify and document noncredit program characteristics in each state; generate state reports Develop a taxonomy of noncredit to guide data collection efforts Compare noncredit program characteristics across states and convene working group to build the taxonomy; generate cross state reports Create a network of states dedicated to building the noncredit data infrastructure Share lessons via a learning community of states and additional publications and presentations

Project Phases Phase 1: Initial state pilot Three states with established noncredit data: Iowa, Louisiana, Virginia Review course/program level data within policy context to generate operational definitions for each state. Develop noncredit data taxonomy across states Phase 2: Expand to other states dedicated to building out their noncredit data with three potential roles Established states interested in expanding on work by IA, LA, VA Emerging states seeking partnership while building/expanding data Learning community members engaging the conversation
