NLR Stipends North Little Rock School District September 25, 2024 The role of LPPC is to create and amend current and proposed policies to ensure that certified staff concerns are considered in the decision making process. The purpose of this particular presentation is to provide informational research to guide future financial decisions of the North Little Rock school district.
NLR Stipends North Little Rock School District Why are we researching stipends? Current stipends have not been adjusted in decades; Stipend amounts are antiquated; The district is in the process of re-organizing, and this should be an area that is also re-organized; It is critical for staff to feel valued for the work that they do; In order to be competitive with other school districts, salaries must also be competitive; We have a tradition of excellence in extracurricular programs at NLR, and in order to continue these traditions, we must take care of the people who have built them.
NLR Stipends North Little Rock School District Comparisons: Proposed Athletic Stipends Why Bryant? Bryant was recommended as a commensurable comparison to NLR by Athletic Director Wes Bilon because they have very successful extracurricular programs and competitive salaries. Additionally, Bryant was the middle of the comparisons in the conference. Non-Athletic Stipends
Summary North Little Rock School District LPPC is not making specific recommendations at this time other than to provide this as information to guide decision making going forward; The committee is open to implementing future action in phases as funds become available; This information is a work in progress, as specific discussions are still happening to inform the process; We do want to ensure that all salaries are considered primarily in this process.
