  2. What is a restaurant week? Restaurant Weeks provide a new opportunity for restaurants, cafes and bars to attract residents and visitors to try out somewhere new to eat, at an affordable price. The Restaurant Week format is a popular and effective way of driving new footfall to businesses. Towns and cities across the UK, including Leeds and York host restaurant weeks that have shown increased participation year-on- year. They: Attract new customers to your businesses Boost awareness of your local food and drink offer Create regular repeat customers for your businesses OFFICIAL

Why Helmsley & Howardian Hills DMP Priority 3: People supporting businesses and engaging residents Helmsley and the Howardian Hills in North Yorkshire were named Most Exciting Food Destination in the Good Food Guide awards in January 2024 Retain award status for 12 months to February 2025. A restaurant week to coincide with 2ndanniversary is an opportunity to celebrate this legacy Focus on local farmers and food producers in creating the conditions for high quality, healthy and delicious locally grown and reared food OFFICIAL

  7. Restaurant feedback Bothams of Whitby Whitby Restaurant Week was a great success for us, and we will be looking out for this next year! For a small, family-run business this was a great opportunity for us to take part in a campaign that has a much bigger budget and wider reach than we would have on our own. We personally enjoyed talking about the other great eateries to be found in Whitby and felt it united us all, and every business came up with different ideas so the customer choice was great. W.Hamond Tearooms Compared with the same week last year we had 35% extra up-take on the meals included in the deal, with 41% more customers walking through our doors, and overall 25% more revenue - so successful for us. Personally, I liked the branding/logo/assets and you made it very easy for us to take part. Perhaps a poster template would be useful. I think the timing was just right for us, just before the opening of the local caravan parks and better weather - typically a slower time. We recorded our own figures if you wanted to compare for voucher downloads: We had 43 redemptions, and there were customers who visited for the first time because of the advertising campaign. We saw visitors, new local people, and regulars taking advantage of the deal. Week Prior: 24 Feb - 1 Mar 35x Cream Teas + 26x Afternoon Teas Restaurant Week: 3-8 Mar There may be things we would tweak for next year on our side-photos, descriptions, offers, but we are very pleased and appreciative with all of your efforts and support. 78x Cream Teas + 55x Afternoon Teas All in all, a great success and created a lovely buzz in the town - thank you!
