  2. General Discussion What are you doing for self-care? What are some of your Sexual Assault Awareness Month Programming Ideas? Where are people at with designing their Informal Resolution Processes?

  3. Formulating Questions When trying to determine whether or not consent was obtained, what kinds of questions would you want to pose? How can you make these questions better? I need to clarify some of the details from when you were in the Respondent s room. When you entered the room, did you use your cellphone to call or text anyone? Why didn t you leave? How would you describe the intercourse? Unpleasant? Rough? If yes, what happened to make it that way? Did you talk to each other during intercourse? What did the Complainant say or do when you got to your room? Did you have your hands on the Complainant s shoulders? Why?

  4. Model UN Sam (student) participating in Model UN travels to Washington D.C. representing your institution. While on the trip they are each paired with another student from your institution to share a hotel room (with separate beds). Sam is paired with Bobby. The night before they re scheduled to fly home Bobby hooks up with Adam, who he met on Grindr, and Bobby brings Adam back to the hotel room after Sam falls asleep. Adam decides to initiate sexual contact with Sam and Bobby joins in. Sam wakes up and is scared and confused and doesn t know what to do. Sam eventually gets up and locks himself in the bathroom and tries to call the advisor for the trip but he doesn t answer. Sam does not feel comfortable leaving a message so he calls another student (Billy). Sam knew that Billy didn t end up with a roommate and tells Billy that Bobby brought someone home. Sam makes an excuse and quickly leaves to stay with Billy. The following week, Sam decides to submit an online report. What considerations do you take into account in this case? How does this fit your institution s jurisdiction?

  5. Elevator Flasher Sally is waiting for the elevator on the fourth floor of her residence hall. As the elevator opens on her floor she sees a man wearing a trench coat who then flashes his penis. The doors close and Sally decides that she ll take the stairs instead. She contacts Public Safety who was able to identify the man as someone who is not a member of the campus community. He was arrested and banned from campus. Sally submits an online report complaining of sexual harassment. Is this conduct Severe, Pervasive, and objectively offensive? Is she being discriminated against by seeing a penis?

  6. Twitter Report Your University Communications Office notices a tweet that says Julian Parker is a rapist and tags your university and sends you an email with the tweet. You check your database and see that there is a current student named Julian Parker. What steps would you envision the Title IX Coordinator taking?
