November Accountability & Quality Update November Accountability & Quality Update All Enrollments, transfers and withdrawals School Report Cards ACCESS 2.0/Alternate ACCESS Testing AdvancED Review Elementary CogAT-Online, timeline-TBD Middle NCFEs/MCFEs for Grades 6,7 and 8 Social studies and Grades 6 and 7 Science. All NCFEs/MCFEs/EOGS are administered online. High Fall Testing-All Online NC Test Browser/NC Education Accounts Technology Plan-Before, During and After (Security) Test Plans NC Math II and NC Math III- 25% assessment choice is a school-level decision (i.e., teacher made exam or performance task) EVAAS Modify/Move/Deactivate Accounts Teacher Verification: January 7 January 27 School Verification: January 28 February 10 District Verification: February 11 February 24 PowerSchool serves as the authoritative source for student and teacher data used by EVAAS. Update all teacher and student information in PowerSchool before November 4, 2016. EVAAS will pull data on November 7. Homebound Students- When a teacher of record (PowerSchool) is NOT the homebound teacher, the Teacher of Record claims 50% of instruction and Homebound Teacher claims 0%. The student is under claimed. If the homebound teach is the teacher of record, the teacher should claim 100% of instruction or per PowerSchool enrollment. Online courses must have a licensed teacher assigned and instructional responsibility is 50%, when the course is available.

Our Opportunities Our Opportunities f for or I Improvement mprovement 1.2 Purpose and Direction: The system maintains and communicates at all levels of the organization a purpose and direction for continuous improvement that commit to high expectations for learning as well as shared values and beliefs about teaching and learning. The system ensures that each school engages in a systematic, inclusive, and comprehensive process to review, revise, and communicate a school purpose for student success. Current Work-SIPs, DIPs , PDSAs, LA, MOY and EOY 2.5 Governance and Leadership: The system operates under governance and leadership that promote and support student performance and system effectiveness. Leadership engages stakeholders effectively in support of the system's purpose and direction Current Work-PR, PDSAs, Open Houses, Your schools 101, Fall/Spring Superintendent Community Rounds, 4.7 Using Results for Continuous Improvement: The system implements a comprehensive assessment system that generates a range of data about student learning and system effectiveness and uses the results to guide continuous improvement. The system provides, coordinates, and evaluates the effectiveness of support systems to meet the physical, social, and emotionalneeds of the student population being served. Current work- One social worker, school nurses, guidance staff and the addition of health education services via TPPI grants.

Our Priority Our Priority I Improvement mprovement A Area rea 3.9 Teaching and Assessing for Learning: The system designs and evaluates structures in all schools whereby each student is well known by at least one adult advocate in the student's school who supports that student's educational experience. Goal 1. All students will be able to identify at least one adult advocate. Objective- 100% of all students will be able to list at least one adult advocate. Strategy-K-12 Career Development and Counseling. Activities- Character words of the month, Dream Builders Career Development Institutes, Advance Via Individual Determination (AVID) Program, Career Development within Career and Technical Education courses, Student Leadership Clubs with Teacher Advisors, Guidance classes, and Guidance advisement (group/individual). Goal 2. All students will receive positive school to home communication. Objective-100% of all students will receive at least two positive school to home communication each semester. Strategy-Diverse school to home communication and diversity training. Activities- Utilize parent contact logs, letters, text messages, emails, web pages and local media to notify parents in multiple languages about positive academic, social, emotional, mental and/or physical actions performed by the student. Provide schools access to a Chief Diversity Officer. Goal 3. All students will participate in academic and social advancement activities. Objective-100% of all students will participate in acceleration and/or enhancement activities. Strategy-Manipulate the school schedule to include acceleration and enhancement activities before, during and after school. Activities- SMART Lunch, Tutoring, Credit Recovery, Intervention/Enrichment Blocks, Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiatives Grant, Communities in Schools (CIS) After School Quality Improvement Grant and 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant.
