Beacon What is it? The electronic system developed and used by the College of Nursing to support students How do you access it? Program Handbooks What is it? The governing document for a program, which includes information related to academic and professional standards, curriculum, and program guidelines. How do you access it? Each program has their own handbook Visit nursing.osu.edu/students/student-resources/student-handbooks for a complete list of all handbooks NOTE: Handbooks are updated annually. Career Services What is it? The career services offered by our staff within the Office of Student Affairs and Success provides insight into career pathways and skills preparation. How do you access it? Visit nursing.osu.edu/career-services for a complete list of available opportunities Many services are offered by our Career Services Coordinator, Lucy Muchmore (muchmore.7@osu.edu). Services include: 1:1 resume and cover letter reviews Mock interviews Online interview preparation Job exploration 13
Compliance What is it? In compliance with university requirements and clinical agencies or practicum sites, many of our students are required to submit specific medical documentation, as well as complete specific certifications and trainings. The Office of Student Affairs and Success tracks completion of these requirements for students. How do you access it? Visit nursing.osu.edu/students/getting-started/compliance-incoming-students for a complete list of compliance requirements for incoming students, based on your program of enrollment You can email Leah Fleming, the Compliance Program Assistant at CONcompliance@osu.edu with questions Services include: Individual tracking of compliance requirements through Beacon Detailed instructions on how to complete required trainings online Individual student appointments 14
The College of Nursing Scholarship Application is moving to Scholarship Universe! 1 2 3 Build Your Profile CON Scholarship Application Log into ScholarshipUniverse osu.scholarshipuniverse.com Use your Ohio State username (lastname.#) and password. Once you are matched to a CON scholarship, follow prompts to complete application. ScholarshipUniverse will match you with scholarship opportunities based on your responses.
