  6. General Education Foundations (GEF) General Education Foundations (GEF) provides the opportunity for students to appreciate the context of their actions and choices beyond their major field of study. Students take between 31 and 37 credits, organized into eight categories SCHOOL OF NURSING

General Education Foundations (GEF) for Nursing Program GEF 1: Composition and Rhetoric (3 or 6 credits) ENGL 101* and ENGL 102 (or ENGL 103) GEF 2: Science and Technology (4 6 credits) CHEM 111* GEF 3: Mathematics and Quantitative Skills (4 credits) STAT 211* GEF 4: Society and Connections (3 credits) PSYC 101* GEF 5: Human Inquiry and the Past (3credits) any courses that fulfills GEF 5 GEF 6: The Arts and Creativity (3 credits) any courses that fulfills GEF 6 GEF 7: Global Studies and Diversity (3 credits) SOCA 105 GEF 8: Focus (9 credits) .   8. Pre-Nursing Pre-Nursing students will have to formally apply to the School of Nursing. If get accepted, students will have 3 years to complete the program. Admission application for Fall 2021 Admission application is simple and free Cumulative-GPA and Prerequisite courses GPA 3.0 Deadline is between December 1st, 2020 and January 15th, 2021 Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) test, Internships, Personal Statement, or Interview is not required Application status notification is in mid-March 2021 SCHOOL OF NURSING

Academic Advising Students are encouraged to meet their advisor often, but are required to have an advising meet with their advisor at least once per semester to discuss their academic plans for the upcoming semester, career and personal goals. Students are encouraged to contact their advisor as early as possible should the students experience any problems academically, physically and mentally.   13. AP Courses Why? Impact to Financial Aid Graduate/Professional School applications We do not want students to repeat courses This can also impact financial aid SCHOOL OF NURSING

  14. What will it take to graduate? Earn a minimum of 122 credits Nursing courses = 68 credits Non-Nursing courses = 54 credits Complete all requirements successfully Maintain Cumulative-GPA 3.0 Pass all prerequisite- and Nursing-courses C If not passing (get a D or an F) one Nursing course, student has one chance to repeat the course. Withdrawing a Nursing course is considered not passing one course. If not passing two courses, student will be dismissed from the program. SCHOOL OF NURSING
