Ocean Color Correction Using Bio-optical Model at University of Maine
Using bio-optical models, this study explores the correction of ocean color at the University of Maine in July 2011. It addresses the black pixel assumption, atmospheric corrections, and the role of NIR bands in satellite imaging. The study discusses the implications of neglecting Rrs(NIR) and highlights the correction methodologies while estimating Rrs(NIR) using operational models like SeaWiFS and MODIS. The bio-optical model used for estimating Rrs(670) is elaborately described, emphasizing model parameters and estimation techniques based on satellite measurements.
