  5. Myocarditis and Pericarditis updates People who develop myocarditis or pericarditis after a dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine generally should not receive a subsequent dose of any COVID-1 vaccine unless The myocarditis or pericarditis was considered unrelated to mRNA COVID-19 vaccination (e.g., due to SARS-CoV-2 or other viruses), especially if the myocarditis or pericarditis diagnosis occurred more than 3 weeks after the most recent dose of COVID-19 vaccine Determined to be at an increased risk of severe acute COVID-19 disease Level of COVID-19 community transmission and personal risk of infection

  6. Myocarditis and Pericarditis updates If the person needs additional dose of COVID-19 vaccine then Wait until their episode of myocarditis or pericarditis has resolved For men ages 18 years and older who choose to receive a subsequent COVID-19 vaccine, some experts advise the use of Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine be considered instead of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines You must inform them of the risk of TTS

  7. Myocarditis and Pericarditis updates People who have a history of myocarditis or pericarditis unrelated to mRNA COVID-19 vaccination (e.g., due to SARS- CoV-2 or other viruses) may receive any currently FDA- approved or FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine after the episode of myocarditis or pericarditis has completely resolved. This includes resolution of symptoms attributed to myocarditis or pericarditis, as well as no evidence of ongoing heart inflammation or sequelae as determined by the person s clinical team

  16. Vaccination changes Individuals who were treated with antibodies are no longer recommended to wait 90 days for receiving vaccination This has been updated in the standing orders Vaccine providers should start the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine series even if there is uncertainty about how the patient will receive their second dose; setting alone should not be a reason to offer the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine This is outlined in the Janssen Standing order

  17. Frequently Asked Questions What does Fully vaccinated mean? Completed the primary series of COVID-19 vaccine Up to date indicates the person has received the booster dose and primary doses What should I do if the 2nd dose was given earlier than recommended? Repeat dose after the dose given in error by at least the minimum interval. A second dose given earlier than the minimum interval allowed (i.e., sooner than the 4-day grace period) is considered invalid and should be repeated no sooner than either 21 days (Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine formulation) or 28 days (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) following the invalid second dose in order to complete the primary series.

  18. Frequently Asked Questions Is there a maximum interval No there is no maximum interval just pick up where the person left off- do not report to VAERS I have Janssen (J&J) should I not use it? When there is a contraindication to mRNA COVID-19 vaccines (e.g., severe allergic reaction after a previous dose or to a component of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine) When a person would otherwise remain unvaccinated for COVID-19 due to limited access to mRNA COVID-19 vaccines When a person wants to receive the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine despite the safety concerns identified
