THE LEGAL AND FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS OF NEGLIGENCE A mailroom clerk might not be regarded as trustworthy or competent enough to stay in the position or be promoted to a senior clerk if he or she neglects to: Receive, sort and dispatch mail according to the procedures Complete the records correctly and accurately Maintain the security policies and confidentiality involving colleagues, the organisation and the clients of the organisation Follow predetermined procedures and deadlines. Neglecting to follow the mailroom procedures, may cause possible delays, financial loss or a loss of clients.
