  1. The Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) is offering a FREE, daily check-in by phone for Ohioans age 60 or older. This service can also connect you with aging network information and support. Register online at www.aging.ohio.gov (preferred, if able) -or- Call 1-833-ODA-CHAT (1-833-632-2428)

  2. PROGRAM OVERVIEW Check-in calls will be made from 7 a.m. 6 p.m. daily. You choose the time that suits you. You can place a hold on these calls at any time.

  3. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE Ohio residents age 60 or older who: Have a valid phone number (mobile or landline). Provide an alternate contact (preferred but not required).

  4. HOW IT WORKS ODA will make three attempts to contact you. When you respond, you have these options: If you do not answer after three attempts, ODA: Reaches out to your alternate contact, if one is provided. Confirm you are OK. Transfer to learn more about aging services in your area. Places a live call to you and your alternate, if previous contacts fail. Notifies local non-emergency services (e.g., sheriff s office) if live call fails to connect.* *This is a non-emergency service. If you have an emergency call 9-1-1.

  5. REGISTRATION INFORMATION Ways to register: What you need to register: Online at www.aging.ohio.gov (preferred, if able) Name, year of birth, street address, phone number, and email (if available) By phone at 1-833-ODA-CHAT (1-833-632-2428) Name of alternate contact, relationship to you, their phone number Your preferred one-hour contact window between the hours of 7 a.m. 6 p.m. Who can register: Participant on their own behalf
