Overview Centralized management of institutional policies, program compliance and updates, and administrative responsibilities Completion of ODDEX and ODHE reports Collection and review of High School Instructor applications to be considered as adjunct instructors Conduct annual Professional Development program for high school adjunct instructors Maintain internal documents and processes, including CC+ manual, forms, websites, etc.

  4. Overview Each campus conducts individual CC+ Orientation meetings, processes student applications and materials, conducts placement testing (regional campuses, as needed), and meets with students in advising appointments.

Ohio University Lancaster Timeline Example: Fall Semester New CC+ Students for Fall Semester Attend orientation during the summer: four different orientation dates are offered, 6:00 8:00 pm Students schedule a 30 minute advising appointment after orientation Students are divided by alphabet among three academic advisors (A G, H P, and Q Z)

Academic Advising/Registration The advising and registration process relies on staff support and student responsibilities Students bring registration advising form to the advising appointment with three signatures: high school counselor, parent, and student Registration form lists the desired OHIO courses and section numbers After advising discussion, registration holds are temporarily removed Students log into their MyOHIO Student Center and register for courses in the advisor s office Registration holds are placed back onto student s accounts before they leave the office

  7. Academic Advising/Registration Students who need to add or drop a course prior to the beginning of a semester are required to come to campus to update their registration Registration hold is removed to allow schedule changes Registration hold is added again once changes are made

  8. Schedule Changes Timeline Example: Fall Semester Students who needed to change their fall schedule attended a walk-in day on August 10 After the designated day, students made changes during the advisor s walk-in day on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday prior to the beginning of Fall classes

  9. Continuous Academic Advising CC+ students are students! Receive regular emails and updates about course and campus events along with matriculated students Encouraged to meet with their academic advisor at any time through-out the year regarding questions, concerns, or to discuss academic and career decision making Access to view what-if degree plans Access to student support services like tutoring

Continuous Academic Advising CC+ students supported through the university s retention and academic progress system: MyOHIO Success Network Course Feedback Kudos Flags / concerns Success Network Campus resource list Faculty / staff connections Communication hub for faculty and staff Identifies students in need of immediate outreach

Continuing CC+ Student Advising Timeline Example: Spring Semester Continuing CC+ students receive a letter and spring 2018 registration advising form in the mail and via email Instructions for scheduling spring advising appointment with assigned academic advisor Advising appointments are 30 minutes Spring advising for CC+ students begins November 20, after degree-seeking students have registered
