  2. OMES general safety 1 Safety is everyone s responsibility. All employees have a distinct responsibility to demonstrate their commitment to safety by proactively addressing all potential issues, no matter how small. Emergency evacuation/shelter in place. Supervisor shall inform all employees of designated gathering location in the event of an emergency. Treat all alarms as if they are real. Do not return to your office unless cleared by the proper authority.

  3. OMES general safety 2 Report hazards, near misses and incidents. Notify supervisor immediately. Do not wait until there is an incident before reporting a hazard. Hazard condition or set of circumstances that presents a potential harm. Near miss injury or damage could have occurred but did not. Incident an unplanned event that causes injury, illness or property damage.

  4. OMES general safety 3 Housekeeping Do not block doorways or walkways with clutter. Keep workstation free of clutter to reduce risk of fire. Clean up all spills immediately and properly or call someone who can. Traveling It is not recommended to use cellphones while operating a vehicle. Do not drive in excess of the speed limit. Follow all state laws.

  5. OMES general safety 4 Don t take risks when it comes to safety. Obey all safety signs, stickers and tags. Be alert, attentive and awake. Safety is a team effort. Workplace safety isn t a one-person job. Everybody on the team should work together toward the same goals to achieve success and prevent injuries.
