On-Line Research Co-op Sparking New Interest in Innovation and Research
"The On-Line Research Co-op Program offers opportunities for high school students to work with national academics and R&D teams, enhancing their skills in e-communication, collaboration, and problem solving. Students engage in research projects, receive academic credit, and potential publication opportunities. The program, conducted online, caters to the busy schedules of senior students, providing a one-credit co-op course with a focus on science and engineering. Teachers recommend students based on interest, leading to research placements and mentorship connections. Through online collaboration, students develop as research assistants and investigators, culminating in the possibility of publishing their findings in the Canadian Young Scientist Journal."
