Agenda Web Updates What s Coming Training & Enterprise+ Web Refresh Q&A
Web Updates Release of updated News theme from Lipman Hearne and University Marketing. Minor release to introduce search functions and improve on Accessibility going live soon. Theme level fixes to improve global Accessibility issues released. Raised the SiteImprove Accessibility score by aprox. 20 points. SiteImprove has transitioned NAU to its new crawler which scans for additional items Have already made adjustment to start time to accommodate increased scan duration. Several small site launches, with the revamped Nursing site coming next. PHP 7 and WordPress 5 upgrades complete on IN platform. Also included updates to numerous plugins used in that environment.
Whats Coming PHP 7 and WordPress 5 upgrades over winter break on WWW platform. Project to move WWW off of Armor and into Azure hosting. This includes moving all production and secondary environments such as Test, Training, etc Scheduled to start after winter break, will likely span multiple quarters. Development of Campaign Microsite for Marketing initiative. Will feature student stories and a story submission form. Further review of AccesiBe Accessibility overlay product. Removal of broken links on IN that have not been otherwise remediated. Ultimate goal across domains is zero broken links.
Training & Enterprise+ Enterprise+ trainings to be made available upon request and rolled into regular workshops. No open labs or workshops scheduled over the winter break. Spring semester workshop schedule is under review, please be sure to check the schedule for updates @ https://in.nau.edu/web/training/ Employee technical development day is January 8th, with classes offered on SiteImprove and advanced WordPress functions.
Web Refresh Introducing Jason Robinson, Experience Design Team Lead for ITS University Marketing, Lipman Hearne, and ITS are engaged in the next iteration of the WordPress theme. Home page redesign, program listing and detail pages, research section of WWW site among other projects. Thoughtful and purposeful design based on a variety of input and willingness to rethink the status quo.
