Role of the Nomination & Election Committee Ensure a fair and transparent process - guardians of nomination & election process operating at arm s length of the board Ensure members are fully informed about the nomination and election process Consider the qualifications and screen nominated candidates based on defined criterias Recommend to members those candidates whose election would ensure the highest quality board and ideal skill composition 3
Nomination Phase Interested members wishing to serve on the board Must receive 20 nominations from active members. May also be suggested by the Board of Directors Nomination Process 1. Online (How to Nominate) 2. Mail-in ballots (Only members who previously requested or with no email address on file) Selection criteria is established by the Mandate and By-Laws 4
Election Phase The list of candidates will be presented by the committee to all members. Their profiles and biographies will be posted on the website. Election Process 1. Online (How to Vote) 2. Mail-in ballots (Only members who previously requested or with no email address on file) The four candidates with the most votes will be announced as new directors of the board. 5
Upcoming Election Members will be electing candidates to fill four (4) positions for a three (3) years term. Existing board member terms up 1. Nabeel Mirza 2. Wael Assal 3. Michael Singh 4. Qadija Yusuf 6
Ideal Director Profile ISNA Canada expects each Director to possess knowledge and experience relevant to its mandate and operations. This year s ideal candidate profile seeked shall include: 1. Non-profit finance, 2. Non-profit governance, 3. Strategic planning and 4. Legal 7
