What is an Operational Amplifier (Op-Amp)? An operational amplifier is a directly coupled high gain voltage amplifier. It is basically a differential amplifier that amplifies the difference between two input signals. Name derives from its use to perform various mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, integration etc. on an input signal.
