  3. English in S4, to support your literacy 5 periods Mathematics in S4, to support your numeracy 5 periods PE and PSE, to support your health and wellbeing

  4. You make 4/6 choices; each choice counts for 5 periods per week In S4, probably subjects carried on from S3 but there is the opportunity to start again if you are prepared to work hard to catch up

  6. YES! Opportunities to experience learning outside the school classroom Subjects such as Beekeeping and Duke of Edinburgh s Award College courses and Foundation Apprenticeships

  7. In normal times, the majority of courses run Tuesday and Thursday afternoon You must be committed won t be back at school until 4. 30 p.m. See option form for college courses open to you; also look at the Edinburgh College website

  8. COVID restrictions may mean that course delivery will be partially or completely online You must be comfortable with this type of independent learning

  9. YES! Foundation Apprenticeships SCQF level 6 2 year commitment for pupils in S5 Spend time with a learning provider, such as Midlothian Communities and Lifelong Learning Work on industry projects supported by experienced colleagues

Or your friend s choice? You don t need to do this on your own- but the final decision has to be yours
