  1. ASA BioPharm Nonclinical Working Group (NCB): New Opportunities Anthony Lonardo {Past Chair NCBLF } NCB 2017 Rutgers University 06/12/2017

  2. History History In Oct of 2003, at Schering-Plough Research, a group of industry nonclinical statisticians in discovery, safety, development, and manufacturing recognized a need to promote excellence in statistics within these areas. Over the next 13 years, this informal group of nonclinical biostatistician leaders formed the Nonclinical Biostatistics Leadership Forum (NCBLF) and successfully promoted communication and discussion on important statistical and regulatory topics within the biopharmaceutical community. This group promoted activities including the creation of a nonclinical biostatistics conference (NCB) given every two years. However a lack of formal structure hindered the group s growth, and made it difficult to sponsor new initiatives. One possible solution was to partner with the ASA Biopharm Section (BIOP) First we had to convince the BIOP Section Executive Committee

  3. Partnering: Partnering: A Team Effort A Team effort by the NCBLF steering team and NCBLF members Proposal to the Exec Committee was prepared by Stan Altan with help from Mandy Bergquist, Steve Novick, and input from other NCBLF members The proposal was presented to the Exec Committee by Gary Sullivan and Mandy Bergquist Special thanks to BIOP Exec Committee Past Chair{ Christine Clark }, the current Chair { Alex Dmitrienko }, and Bill Pikounis {current Exec Com member} This process took about 9 months The BIOP Exec Committee welcomed us at their Oct, 2016 meeting
