  13. Key initiatives for Regional set of SDGs Indicators Key initiatives for Regional set of SDGs Indicators 2015 Feb Oct. At request of Pacific UN Missions in New York who represented the Pacific on the SDG Open Working Group(Nauru, Palau, PNG) the CROP members of the Sustainable Development Working Group through SPC coordination reviewed the global indicators identified by the Inter-Agency Expert Group on SDGs 51 Draft Pacific Headline Indicators were identified for the Pacific members on the Open Working Group on SDGs 2015 Feb Oct PIFS started a desktop review of Pacific National Development Plans against the SDGs Targets to identify synergies and alignment 2015 Sept Pacific Leaders in FSM called for one set of regional indicators to measure progress of the 2030 Agenda/SDGs, SAMOA Pathway and Framework for Pacific Regionalism implementation in the Pacific.

Key initiatives for Regional set of SDGs Indicators Key initiatives for Regional set of SDGs Indicators 2016 March CROP Sustainable Development Working Group (SDWG) met for first time in 2016 to discuss the Pacific Leaders Directives on the SDGs/SAMOA Pathway and FPR. Suggested to use the 51 Draft Pacific Headline Indicators as starting point for a regional set of indicators 2016 May PIFS as secretariat of the CROP SDWG updated the PSSC in Lautoka on the Pacific Leaders decisions on the SDGs and the work on the SDGs Roadmap. Highlighted the 51 Pacific Headline Indicators but asked for SPC to share with the PSSC. 2016 - June Pacific SDGs Taskforce met for the first time and agreed to use the 51 Draft Pacific Headline Indicators as the starting point for regional discussions on a set of Regional SDGs indicators for the Pacific. Agreed to consult the countries and development partners on the 51 indicators and the rest of the SDGs indicators come up with a revised list after consultations 2016 September 51 Draft Pacific Headline Indicators annexed to the Outline of the Pacific SDGs Roadmap that was endorsed by Leaders in 2016.

SPC through Circular sought input/comments from Pacific countries and development partners on the Draft Pacific Headline indicators undertaken by SPC with PIFS assistance 2. PIFS/UNESCAP - Mapping of existing regional Frameworks against FPR/SDGs/SAMOA Pathway to identify possible targets and indicators to help identify regional targets/indicators undertakenby Derek Brien (requested by Secretariat and funded by UNESCAP) 3. UNDP - Mapping of progress at country level on tailoring the SDGs to national plans requested by Secretariat and undertaken by Garry Wiseman - funded by UNDP. 4. PIFS updated country National Development Plan SDGs targets indicators mapping 2016 Nov SDGTF met for 2nd time to consider the revised list of indicators from countries, development partners and the regional and national mapping exercises SDGTF secretariat presented to the PSSC in Nadi the 143 revised list of indicators from the SDGTF after review of the country/development partner inputs & regional & country plan mapping exercises
