  2. 2020 World Round of Population and Housing Censuses Pacific Island countries census planning meeting 27 to 31 July 2015 at SPC Headquarters. PICT representatives, data users and technical partners. Purpose Plan for a successful conduct of the 2020 round of population and housing censuses in the Pacific. Ensure that census content covers important core questions recommended at the international level to produce comparable data. Ensure that the 2020 round of censuses collect data that are relevant to national, regional and international policy, planning and reporting requirements. Facilitate small working groups to discuss technical challenges, problems and issues experienced in the 2010 round censuses, and plan for improvements in the 2020 round censuses. Core census questionnaire Roster Housing (materials, WASH, lighting, asset ownership, income source) Agriculture and fishing (participation, purpose, land area) Population characteristics (age, gender, marital status, ethnicity, migration) Washington Group Short Module (seeing, hearing, walking, remembering, self-care, communicating) Education, language and literacy (attainment, attendance, reading, writing, language spoken) Economic activities (TO CHANGE) Fertility and mortality (births, children ever born, children not alive, last child birth date, last child death date) Communication and internet (internet and mobile phone use)

  4. Supplementary census questionnaire Optional module to meet user needs or to be implemented in lieu of a subsequent census/survey (e.g., agriculture). Housing (vacant dwellings, tenure, value, rent) Agriculture (parcels, use, tenure, irrigation, crop/tree production and purpose, decision making, equipment) Livestock (animals, purpose, number, decision making) Fisheries (mode, purpose, frequency; location, purpose, frequency; catch, purpose frequency; method; decision making) Aquaculture (type, purpose, frequency, stock; decision making) Population (alcohol / tobacco / kava / betel nut use) Washington Group long form Education, language, literacy (previous school year, school type, language use, field of education, type of institution) Economic activity (earnings and income; pension)
