  1. 5th Pacific Statistics Standing Committee Meeting, 9 October 2024, Port Vila Melanesian Sub-Region Statistics Development Progres and 2025 Plan

Fiji Bureau of Statistics Priorities and 2024 Work Plan Nation-wide consultation on Statistics Act review (support: DFAT / ABS) Establishment of Statistical Advisory Council Fiji NSDS (FSDS) development (support: Stats NZ) HIES 2025-2026 starting Aug 2024, collection from Jan 2025 (support: WB to be confirmed) Fiji government support: Budget restored for 17 frozen positions including 2 deputies, and for HIES EUS 2023-2024 (finishing Sep 24) MICS+ (May 24 May 25) STEP (partnership with WHO and Min Health) Census 2027 (preparation starts mid 2025)

New Caledonia Priorities and 2024 plan Agriculture census every 10 years 2022 but have missed in 2022 ISEE collaborating with Ministry of Agriculture and Provinces 1.Census Census a key priority start in Sept 2024 Preliminary population results available by Dec Use both paper and tablets. 2024 census Testing will be carried at one urban and one province that will test the different households. 5. Housing Survey planning underway 2. Labour Force Survey (LFS) Advancing the LFS which started in 2017 Annual LFS will start in Nouvelle-Caledonie and later collaborate with French Polynesia Need to secure the LFS Funding. After every 3 years, funding drawing goes back to the government 6. Website Revamping Redo ISEE website to make more attractive. Consultations underway to get people s view Adding different innovative technology products, tools etc. Could be an area to collaborate with SPC PDH. Have tools for tourism data collection 3. Agriculture Census Agriculture census started, confirm funding. Funding all phase from planning, designing to reporting 7. Engagement Strengthen engagement and collaboration with other Pacific Island Countries

Solomon Islands National Statistics Office 2025 Workplan 1.Household Income and Expenditure Survey 2024_2025 (HIES 2024_2025) Field Operations continue from 2024 till Oct 2025 Preliminary results to Publish Dec 2025 National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) Re-base from 2024_2025 HIES Update and rebase of GDP after completion of HIES 4. NSDS Review Thoroughly review NSDS 2015 to 2035 Working on NSO organisational Re-Restructure and push for cabinet approval Review NSO legislations (Statistics Act and Census Act) 5. Census 2019 Productions Produce 2019 Census Monographies Assist and Support other SIG line Ministries with Census specific Analysis 2. National Economics Establishment Census (NEEC) Publish basic tables/ result of NEEC Updating of Business Survey and Business registry using NEEC data Conduct Annual Business Survey, 1stQuarter 2025 6. NSO Recurrent/Ongoing Activities Monthly National Consumer price Index collections and Publications Quarterly collection and release of (Visitors Arrival, International Merchandise trade) 7. Consultation and Bids DHS/MICS 7 Agriculture Census /National Agriculture Survey 3. Economics National Accounts Updating of Supply use tables (SUT) Publish publication of SUT

SPC & ILO support with planning, Sampling and Questionnaire (Qs to include Climate change module) Data collection moved to 2025 due to Questionnaire design 1. National Accounts GDP 2022 publication. GDP 2023 publication and rebasing High priority for Dec 2024 2. Trade Statistics Publications in 2024 increase to 11 (Trade+ Visitor Arrivals reports) from current 9-10 reports. 6. Stakeholders surveys support Domestic Violence Survey with Vanuatu Women's Centre Demand Side Survey (Financial Inclusion) with Reserve Bank of Vanuatu User Satisfaction Survey Public Service Commission 3. Agriculture Census (2022) and MICS (2023) Main reports launched in 27thJUNE 4. June 27thLaunching - Big Launch of Statistics Products Vanuatu National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS) 2024-2028 Population Census (2020) o Census Monographs (Gender, Disability, Youth) o Constitution profiles from 18 constituencies o Population Projections NSDP & SDGs Indicator Tracking Platform - includes 193 indicators VBoS website (built internally) High Frequency Phone Survey (HFPS) Socio-Economic Impact of Covid on Households 7. Other Priorities Disaster Project & Machine Learning - UNESCAP supported with in-country training. Applying data science towards disaster preparedness and assessment reports including recovery. Parliament Project- Statistical Literacy strengthening for Parliament Staff and 6 Member of Parliament (1stPhase). Well-Being Project Final Phase Happy Planet Index (HPI): Ranked 1stin 2024 (living happy long lives with less environment depletion). Tableau Training for data visualisation

Office of the National Statistician Review & develop the 2025-2027 Corporate Plan Oversee the overall PNG NSO statistical operations Prepare & report to DPM & PM s Dept on our annual KRAs & on SDGs Communicate & coordinate key PNG National Statistical System (NSS) on critical statistics Leverage funding sources for proposed projects (national & international partners) Coordinate others as directed by the Minister 4. Population & Social Statistics Division Analyze 2024 Census Results & provide operational report Review & compile international migration data & its data life cycle Compile pop. & social administrative data from the NSS Test all surveys & censuses data collection instruments & manuals Collect, compile & disseminate demographic dividend program Setup & run data literacy & appreciation program 5. Statistical Field Services Division Update GIS maps of all subdivisions of the country down to census unit (CU) level Update all field operational manuals Make progress on provincial statistical office establishments to create provincial data systems Review & automate NSO s business processes Assist other NSO field operations 2. Corporate Services Division Provide key administrative support services Digitize, archive & upload NSO publications 3. Census analyses, publication & dissemination 3. Demographic & Health Survey prepare for the conduct in 2026 4. Assist DLIR conduct the Labor Force Survey 5. Review the Statistical Services Act 6. Assist review the PNG Population Policy 7. Review & develop other NSO administrative reforms & strategies - Eg: HR Reform Strategy, GESI policy, NSO restructure, etc.
