  2. Background eConsult is the current online consultation provider In place since 2019 Varied feedback from GP practices and patients Contract due to end. Re-procurement undertaken Summer 2022 Commission across ICB Cheshire & Merseyside consistency , VFM Local project group to inform technical requirements of the specification

  3. Tender process Cheshire & Merseyside procurement led by NHS England/Digital Full competitive procurement undertaken Good level of market interest from suppliers Diverse evaluation panel across Cheshire & Merseyside, including GPs, commissioners and patient representatives including Healthwatch Wirral Successful provider PATCHS. 12 months contract with option to extend (3 years duration)

Features Patients log in via NHS App or PATCHS direct link Patient account (optional) retains past history of e-consultations Less questions to answer - free text answers (no multiple choice) Demand management capping / daily limit (monitoring reports) Customisable questionnaires Advises if patient has changed the answers to any questions Bulk messaging to patients AI (optional) undertakes triage, predicts if face to face or other appointment type more suited and language translation Language translation (up to 30 most commonly used languages in the UK) Prioritisation of consultations to support urgent request and clinical workload Ease of use from patient perspective

  5. Current Position Phased roll out underway. 29/47 (62%) practices live with PATCHS. All by end of April. Existing eConsult contract extended until September 2023 to allow transition across C&M Patient engagement, awareness and support is key via text, websites, TV screens, twitter, PPGs, Healthwatch etc. PATCHS SMS function - in progress for roll out Initial patient feedback from patients is it is easy to use with less questions.
