  1. DEVELOPING RESILIENCE What is physical health?

  2. ICE BREAKER CLAP, CLICK, SLAP In pairs take turns in counting from 1 to 3. A different person should start each time. Now replace saying the number 1 with a hand clap instead. Now replace saying number 2 with a finger click. Now replace saying number 3 with a knee slap.

  3. WHAT IS GOOD PHYSICAL HEALTH? Fuelling up Good Physical Health Switching off Moving Rest and recovery

  4. PHYSICAL HEALTH QUIZ Working in groups Discuss and write down if you think the statements are true or false

  5. Fuelling up A balanced diet and keeping hydrated Have some dairy or dairy alternatives (such as soya drinks and yoghurts) Eat some beans, pulses, fish, eggs, meat and other protein foods Starchy food should make up just over a third of the food we eat Eat at least 5 portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables a day

  7. Moving - Regular exercise & being flexible

  9. POSTCARD On the back write down some examples of features of good physical health. Try and include something from each heading: Fuelling up Moving Rest and recovery Switch off On the front design a visual image that represents good physical health.

  10. STRENGTHS AND IMPROVEMENTS Complete the worksheet you can work in pairs or small groups to help each other and discuss your answers. Under each heading write: Two strengths you already have One improvement you would like to make Then Place a large P next to the area which you feel is the most positive Place a large I next to the area you would like to improve the most

  11. REFLECTION Optional Draw and colour a badge that reflects which element of physical health you feel the most positive about. Draw the badge on a A4 word document to the actual size YOU would be happy to wear it.
