5 MUSTS 1. CARE They don t care how much you know, until they know how much you care. 2. 24/7 ..Be available for them at all times. If they call, we go. 3. KNOWLEDGE .We must know our stuff. They must know that we know what we are teaching. It must be applicable, fundamental and transferable to the game. 4. SWEAT EQUITY ..We must be willing to sweat with them. Not at the expense of good teaching and correction, but at times we have to be willing to show them we are in the trenches with them. 5. TRUST ..The most important thing. I think we are at the point where the returning guys totally trust in us. Now we must get the new guys there as well. There is no concrete formula we just have to be consistent with the first 4.
FROM THIS WEEK UNTIL THE FIRST GAME .. 4 Days this week 3 Days next week 5 Days Training Camp 25 Days Pre Season INDIVIDUAL WORK EACH DAY!!!!
WHAT ????? Skill Development Specific to the Player and Our System. Combination of TEACHING and REPETITION. Game Speed .as much as possible. Know the WHY ..if they ask, we have to give them the Why . BE FLEXIBLE ..ready and willing to adapt and change on the fly.
WHEN 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after practice. Each practice/shootaround until first game. Once season begins we will reassess.
BE READY TO WORK W/ ANYONE We will primarily have certain guys, HOWEVER, always be aware that due to circumstances unforeseen, be prepared to work with any of them. There are going to be days where a player isn t feeling it ..we have to bring it everyday ..be CONSISTENT without being EMOTIONAL ..PASSIONATE, yes, but not OVERLY EMOTIONAL.
COMMUNICATION. Same Talk/Same Language Know what everyone is teaching Keep each other informed
