Policy Working Group (PWG) The Policy Working Group is responsible for conducting technical reviews and determinations of a fully commercialized energy- efficient product s eligibility, suitability, or applicability for referral to an existing program in the Companies Portfolios. PWG members include the Companies, EEB Technical Consultants, and industry advisors. PWG meets on an as-needed basis.

Connecticut PWG Restructuring Goals Improve the Technology Assessment Process Eliminate Duplication Across New England States Make the process more efficient and effective Provide a pipeline of vetted technologies for the Companies Increase reporting and transparency Eversource and Avangrid operate in multiple states Technologies are often applicable across states PWG activities overlap with technology assessment groups in other states

Massachusetts Technology Assessment Committee (MTAC) MTAC supports a coordinated effort across statewide electric and gas utilities to incorporate new commercially available technology into individual and statewide energy efficiency programming efforts. MTAC participants are exclusively program administrators.   6. PWG Proposed Changes 1. Adopt the MTAC technical review process (which Connecticut already has representation in). 2. Use the Policy Working Group to review MTAC-approved technologies for suitability with respect to Connecticut s policies and regulatory framework. 3. Publish approved technologies and report to EEB semi-annually.
