My name is Black Wolf from the Rock Creek Band of the Yakama Nation. My English name is Jacob Billy Sr. My heart requires my family, my Earth (Mother), and those things upon this Earth to be who and what I am.
NILI holds a dear place in my heart, because the tasks of language teachers are so numerous. Many of our teachers struggle against opposition in our communities from parents, religious leaders, and other teachers. NILI and Sapsikw ala motivate my spirit to new heights and speed. It is necessary for thick skin and tremendous love to continue to strengthen native language and native spirit. Developing new methods to deal with new challenges excites my mind and body. Materials development raises awareness of new possibilities. MATERIALS DEVELOPMENT
