What is Gods will for your life? That you d walk in a manner worthy of Him, pleasing to Him (Galatians 1:10) What is God worthy of? (Revelation 4:11; 5:12) Paul next identifies 3 specific things that bring God glory and should mark our lives
1:10b. Bearing fruit glorifies God. 2 Peter 1:3 Galatians 5:16, 22-25 Will this (behavior, thought process, etc) yield the fruit of the Spirit? Matthew 7 Jesus says we ll recognize and know trees by their fruit. Fruit is outwardly visible and recognizable to people. Ephesians 5:9
1:11. Holy resilience glorifies God. Ephesians 3:20-21 For what purpose? Endurance (perseverance, reflecting a trust in God's promises and a commitment to His will.) Jeremiah 17:7-8 Patience (self-restraint that does not hastily retaliate) 1 Timothy 1:16 with joy Habakkuk 3:17-18
What is joy? Essential and foundational Romans 14:17 Greek word chara: gladness, delight; derived from Greek verb chair , to rejoice/be glad properly, the awareness (of God's) grace 2 Corinthians 7:4 Hebrews 10:34 1 Peter 1:5-8
1:12. Gratitude glorifies God. We should be so constantly consciously aware of and expressing gratitude for the things identified in vv12-14. Romans 3:24-25 2 Corinthians 5:21 Hebrews 12:22-24, 28
