Prairie Grove Schools will address both of these groups needs by providing a guaranteed and viable curriculum in the following ways. 1. Blended, on-site instruction will be offered and be very similar to the traditional classroom experience with more priority placed on safe and sanitary procedures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread. Online resources will include Lincoln Learning, Khan Academy, TeacherTube and teacher-created videos and activities. 2. Off-site virtual instruction will be offered to students in grades 4-12 who wish to remain at home using Lincoln Learning through the Arkansas Public School Resource Center. Seesaw will be the LMS of choice for our K 3rdgrade students.
Action 2: PGSD will provide unfinished learning from the Arkansas Playbook: Addressing Unfinished Learning and district developed resources. By using the Arkansas Playbook, PGSD teachers will use student diagnostic, and common formative, assessments to determine evidence of unfinished learning from our students. Once each student, both at home and virtual, demonstrates areas of unfinished learning, teachers of record will assign Lincoln Learning lessons to address these deficiencies. Additionally, i-Ready assessments will be used for those students in grades K-8 while 9-10 grade students will additionally be assessed using ACT Aspire Interim Assessments to determine progress throughout this school year.
Action 3: The PGSD will use a Learning Management System (LMS) to serve both on-site and at home students with quality instruction. Kindergarten through 3rdgrade students will use Seesaw. This LMS is compatible with and contains very similar features to Google Classroom. Families with students enrolled in multiple schools in our district should not have difficulty switching between platforms. This platform is more user friendly for early learners. Students in grade 4-12 will use Buzz as their LMS. This LMS will be implemented for both virtual and supplemental instruction in grades K-12. The Buzz learning management system for the Lincoln Learning system will be used in tandem with Google Classroom. Advanced Placement students will use Virtual Arkansas or Google Classroom depending upon the AP class they are enrolled in.
