Preparing Students for the CDOS Credential
In 2013-2014, significant changes were made in the education system regarding diplomas and credentials. The IEP Diploma was replaced by the Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential and the CDOS Credential. This shift aimed to better prepare students, especially those with disabilities, for post-school opportunities. The CDOS Credential now requires students to fulfill specific criteria, including a career plan, demonstrating achievement of CDOS Learning Standards, and completing hours of career and technical education or work-based learning. These changes emphasize readiness for the workforce and reflect a shift towards a more inclusive education system.
