Priorities for Transport Sector Integration & Development
Integration of cross-border and national transport corridors, development of telecommunications networks, establishment of logistic centers, rehabilitation of bridges, reconstruction of roads, and more are key priorities for the transport sector. Development partners' interventions, road/bridge disaster management, private sector involvement, and enhancement of road safety are important for further sector development. Expected outcomes by 2020 include enhanced road network, rehabilitated bridges and tunnels, improved logistics network, increased movement of goods and passengers, identification of PPP projects, and heightened awareness of road safety.
