More discussion is needed GOES-R Product Operations Science Support Team (POSST): Planning for GOES-R Cal/Val AWG members should review Bob s presentation Review who the cal/val players are and expected roles & responsibilities Review product maturity levels. When do we declare victory? User engagement in the process? GORWG should be used to guage user satisfaction Is the necessary infrastructure/capabilities in place that will allow the AWG/CWG to perform their cal/val work? Review GOES-R System-level Cal and Product Measurement Val CONOPS/OPSCON document STAR/AWG Please provide comments/feedback Himawari-8 Data Access Critical data for GOES-R risk reduction activities (calibration, L2 products). High on Steve Goodman s list. Plenty of coordination with JMA underway to facilitate this We need to begin process of securing the necessary storage for these data now
Noteworthy Items (2/2) Candidate Field Programs identified by Steve Goodman Others? These address the ADEB finding of Insufficient Validation Continue GSICS cross-validation, being careful this aspect not diminished at expense of field campaigns Independent Product Evaluation Further discussions needed on this as to how we might achieve this ABI Version 2 SRFs are now available CRTM updates needed (Frank P. to check) AHI-8 SRFs Verify if available SRFs are latest version (Frank P) AWG now has been given access to Harris Product Software AWG scientists need to familiarize themselves with it Can it be integrated within AIT framework? Will be pursued. Validation Tools AWG presentations showed many tools to validate products have been developed (routine and deep-dive). Should be in good shape at launch. Provide list of tools to POSST Other items?
