  3. SEVEN CORE COMPETENCIES 1. Commitment to Students Performance criteria for all seven of the core competencies can be found on pages 15 - 21 within the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS) Handbook.   4. C.E.I. WRITING FORMAT Claim A general statement that describes the employee s performance in that core competency. Examples/Evidence A quote or literal description of something said or done along with the date and type of documentation collected which reflects the specific action. There should be at least three-five examples per core competency. Impact An impact statement describing the results of the employee s performance in that core competency.

  5. ProfessionalismCafeteria Worker Meets Competency Ms. Yu is extremely dependable and regularly demonstrates her abilities in treating all people equitably. She arrives to work on time and is ready to begin her job duties. She completes her work efficiently and thoroughly (observations 1/18/XX and 5/4/XX). She regularly takes initiative to help colleagues complete their duties when necessary to make sure that all students are fed each day on time (e-mails 10/10/XX and 3/23/XX). On several occasions Ms. Yu assisted upset students who had no money in their lunch accounts to problem solve their issue and to get them fed without causing them embarrassment (Records of Conference 11/12/XX 12/16/XX, and 2/10/XX). Ms. Yu also remains calm in high stress situations, which helps coworkers and ensures that the work flow is maintained.   6. MCPS FORM 430-90 EVALUATION FORM: SUPPORTING SERVICES PROFESSIONAL GROWTH SYSTEM Use the most recent MCPS Form 430-90, dated June 2018. https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/forms/pdf/430- 90.pdf Each section of the form must be completed.

  7. PERMANENT STATUS EVALUATION FOR A PROBATIONARY EMPLOYEE For a probationary employee meets competency evaluation submission: The employee must have: 1. Worked in the new position at a school/worksite for four or more full months prior to the closure, and 2. Demonstrated that they meet competency. If the probationary employee meets this criteria, submit a permanent status evaluation by June 15, 2020. If the employee did not work in the probationary position for four full months prior to the closure, then the permanent status evaluation is on hold and its deadline will be adjusted once the remote student learning period ends and all staff return to the worksite.

  8. REGULAR OR SPECIAL EVALUATIONS For a meets competency evaluation submission, please ensure the examples/evidence statements reflect the employee s performance during the time period noted for the evaluation. Evaluations need to be submitted by June 15, 2020.

  9. COLLECTING ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES FOR STAFF EVALUATIONS Have your staff member send you an email from their MCPS e-mail account with the following criteria: The email must have their evaluation attached; and The staff member must agree with, complete, and cut and paste the following statement in the transmitting email: I agree that by typing my name and today s date below, and submitting the attached ___ page document titled _________ by electronic mail, I am intending that the below constitutes and is the equivalent to my personal signature on the attached document. ________________________ ______________________________ Name For record keeping purposes, the transmitting email must be saved along with the evaluation. Date

WHERE TO SUBMIT EVALUATIONS Please e-mail individual evaluations and corresponding electronic signature page to the following dropbox e-mail addresses, based on your location: Elementary Schools (ELEM) Evaluations-ELEM@mcpsmd.org Middle Schools (MIDD) Evaluations-MIDD@mcpsmd.org High Schools (HIGH) Evaluations-HIGH@mcpsmd.org Special Schools (SPEC) Evaluations-SPEC@mcpsmd.org Non-School Based Offices (NSBO) Evaluations-NSBO@mcpsmd.org

HOW TO SUBMIT EVALUATIONS Please include the following information in the subject line of the e-mail, and if possible, the title(s) of the attached file(s): Last name, First name, and ID Number of the employee being evaluated Type of evaluation: REG (for regular cycle evaluation) PERM (for permanent status evaluation) SPECIAL (for special evaluation) PAR FOLLOW-UP (for PAR follow-up evaluation) It is imperative that each evaluation is submitted separately. This will assist us to ensure accurate accountability for the submission from your site.
