  2. 2 Introduction Participants should be divided into groups by countries which they represent presuming it is an international course. If it is a national course, students should be divided into groups. If possible, regulators, operators and representatives from the industry should be in their own groups. All the groups will participate in this exercise and prepare a short presentation for the plenary session. Design of a nuclear reactor 15-26 January - 19-30 March 2018

Design of a Nuclear Reactor Instructions: Each group need to identify differences in different types of nuclear reactors i.e. Pressurized Water Reactor (PWRs), Boiling Water Reactor (BWRs), Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) with respect to following; Major Components of nuclear reactor Fuel used in these reactors Moderator used in these reactors Design of a nuclear reactor 15-26 January - 19-30 March 2018 3

Design of a Nuclear Reactor Instructions: Based upon differences highlighted in different type of reactors, each group will present the brief overview of merits and de-merits for following technologies; Group-1 PWRs Group-2 PHWRs Group-3 - BWRs Design of a nuclear reactor 15-26 January - 19-30 March 2018 4
