In response to the interests and needs of our students at MACS: build interest and capacity at the elementary and middle school level increase STEM offerings at MACS, through the continuation and expansion of Engineering Courses Future of PLTW at MACS adjust the schedule so that low enrollment courses are offered on a bi-annual basis adjust courses so that enrollment is maintained throughout the entire course, maximizing exposure to a variety of STEM content areas 7 Mission: Educate and motivate our students to be successful, responsible citizens.

  8. Course Proposal Process Teachers confer with Department Coordinator and Principal for conceptual approval to develop a Course Proposal. Multiple factors are to be addressed by the teacher when proposing a course. Course Proposals are ideally presented to Building Principal by end of November. Proposal is the presented to Central Office for further review and approval. It is then presented to Board of Education for final approval. This timeframe allows for budgetary discussions and provides time for information to be developed for Course Catalog. Course curriculum is developed during summer and reviewed by administration. Typically we may add 1-2 courses per year. All courses are reviewed regularly to determine on-going interest and enrollment. As our RtI process is developed at the High School, all classes will be reviewed to identify issues and/or concerns. 8
