Institut Poeta Maragall Barcelona Projecte ERASMUS+ From Diversity to Employability Our project: special traits For 17 years old students interested in being involved in working on real time projects with senior management. It is a project managed and promoted by the Public Employment Service of the Government of Catalunya (SOC) It is not a way of having free workers for the Companies It is not a way of learning a skill, it s a way of having a first contact with the labour market For students of humanities and social sciences and performing arts
Institut Poeta Maragall Barcelona Projecte ERASMUS+ From Diversity to Employability Working conditions Practice should always be done outside of school hours It can be done during the school year, or once it is finished (June, July) It can be done on weekends, but not on Sundays. It cannot be held at night. It cannot be carried out in family business
Institut Poeta Maragall Barcelona Projecte ERASMUS+ From Diversity to Employability Organization: Structure and sequencing The course is offered in two possible ways: 1st way: Theoretical part (70 h) in school + Practical part (70 h) in a Company 2nd way: Practical part (140 h) in a Company
Institut Poeta Maragall Barcelona Projecte ERASMUS+ From Diversity to Employability School and Companies: A control system and a following-up of the work which has been carried out: QBID Platform (for teacher , student and Company) Two tutors: a tutor in school and a tutor in the Company Students prepare a daily report (they write it in the QBID platform)

Institut Poeta Maragall Barcelona Projecte ERASMUS+ From Diversity to Employability Different kinds of Companies Schools of theatre, cinema and singing: Students help preparing the stages and costumes XIT Arts esc niques Escola MEMORY: ESPAI LAZZIGAGS ESPAI BROSSA ABACUS: Employees of a stationary and book shop DECATHLON: Employees of a sports shop HOTEL IBIS MERIDIANA: helping in the bar and anything that is needed Perfumerie TESS: Students help in a perfumery shop XIXELL esplai: Leisure activities for children AIS Help: Support to the people with functional disabilities promoting their social inclusion INSTITUT JAUME BALMES: Our students perform administrative tasks in the offices

A specific subject in non compulsory high school Included in the curricula Elective for all 17 years old students It consists of a period of activity of the students in a Company What did we learn? That is a great way for students to learn things that are difficult to teach otherwise What did we like? Teachers and students both learn about the different Companies and a new way of teaching and learning What went well? Students get aware of the reality of working in a Company and helps them decide their professional future
Institut Poeta Maragall Barcelona Projecte ERASMUS+ From Diversity to Employability Evaluation What kind of challenges did we come across? It s a lot of job to find the Companies and to make the agreements for the teachers What didn t we like? That some students don t behave as they should What was difficult? To find the different Companies was not easy What would we do differently next time? We would like that the Science and the Art students could also have this subject next time
