The Importance of Arts Advocacy The Importance of Arts Advocacy The Arts prove to be a valuable aspect of student learning and any school community Students who take at least four years of arts classes score on average 100 points higher on the SAT [College Board, 2011] High arts-involved students report better job outcomes higher pay, job satisfaction and more promotion opportunities [Cantrall, 2009] The Arts will be more important than ever this year, with strapped budgets, lay offs, and distressed families and children

Participating in Participating in Arts in Education Week Arts in Education Week Arts in Education Week - September 13-19, 2020 Use #PTAReflections and #BecauseofArtsEd to share your story and bring national visibility to the issue of arts education. Celebrate by starting your Reflections program around the theme, I Matter Because Register now Sign this pledge to share why you think arts education is essential! Share opportunities to raise student voices in the arts, like this one from The American Academy of Arts and Sciences who is seeking teen voices (ages 13-17) on a Sept 23 listening session about arts education, access and inequality. Participates will receive a $25 Blick gift certificate and must register here.
