In places of high population growth, lack of alternative protein sources, and destructive fishing practices threatens sustainability Income From artisanal Commercial fishing valued at SBD $75 million per year (MACBIO report, 2017) Other importance incomes from nature-based tourism Ability to continue cultural practices and values Regulating services coastal protection Contribute towards our country s economy

  10. Effort Trend Depletion of important commercial species is very evident Generally effort is higher as compared to the good old days Due to high fishing pressure - shift from subsistence to cash base - increase population
