  3. Introduction Ontario is currently in Stage 3 of the Province s Roadmap to Reopen Indoor spaces and recreational facilities, including performing arts spaces, are able to open at limited capacity Propeller Dance has a new vaccination policy effective Mon Oct 4th, 2021

Personnel and Training Health and Safety volunteers will uphold Health and Safety measures at each in-person class and rehearsal For rehearsals and classes, one Health and Safety volunteer will be hired per six dancers If less than six dancers, an artistic co-director or dance partner specialist will uphold these job duties All Health and Safety volunteers will be trained by a Health and Safety Volunteer Trainer Lianne Davies (ldavies25@gmail.com) before returning to in-person work

  6. Vaccination Policy Propeller Dance is introducing a vaccination policy to minimize risk to employees, contractors, students, supports, and volunteers All employees, contractors, students, supports and volunteers who participate in in-person activities must be fully vaccinated against COVID- 19 Please submit proof of vaccination to Development and Admin manager Jaime Alink (admin@propellerdance.com)

  7. Exemptions to vaccination requirements: Children 11 years of age and younger who cannot be vaccinated at this time Individuals who cannot be vaccinated due to physical or mental medical reasons Must submit a medical note that sets out: a. that they cannot be vaccinated against COVID-19; and b. the effective time period for the medical reason (i.e., permanent or time limited) Individuals with established religious objections Must provide a protected reason waiver

  8. Individuals who cannot be vaccinated due to the above exemptions must undergo daily COVID-19 antigen testing before and after in-person interactions at Propeller Dance and report results to admin@propellerdance.com Accommodations, such as online classes, will be provided where possible

  10. Health and Safety Measures Mandatory Mask Wearing All staff, volunteers and participants must wear a mask in all Propeller Dance spaces Masks must cover the chin, mouth and nose with no gaps

  11. Exemptions to mask wearing: Children under two years of age Children under the age of five years either chronologically or developmentally who refuse to wear a mask and cannot be persuaded to do so by their caregiver Individuals with medical conditions or disabilities that make them unable to safely wear a mask, including breathing difficulties or cognitive difficulties Propeller Dance admin staff will track participants with exemptions to mask wearing

  12. Personal Protective Equipment Propeller Dance employees, contractors, students and volunteers are responsible for purchasing and wearing their own masks We recommend three-layered blue medical masks or N95s for best protection; cloth masks may also be worn Propeller Dance have new disposable three-layer masks to exchange for old ones at the entrances to workstations for those that need them

  13. Propeller Dance will also provide Hand sanitizer at each activity location Disinfecting/cleaning supplies at each workspace One field shield each for dance teachers, musicians and dance partners specialists

  14. Hand Washing and Hygiene Everyone is required to wash their hands upon arrival, during breaks and after class with hand sanitizer or soap and water Proper hand washing directions: Wet hands, use liquid soap, lather and rub hands together for at least 15 seconds Rinse hands Towel or air dry hands Turn off taps with towel or your sleeve Hand sanitizer will be available at all programming locations

  15. Avoid touching face, including eyes, nose and mouth Avoid high-touch areas, where possible, or ensure hands are washed or sanitized after these areas are touched/used

  16.   17. Physical Distancing All Propeller Dance activities will follow physical distancing protocols Attendance at classes and rehearsals will be limited based on venue space Only staff, volunteers, participants, and support staff may enter dancing spaces due to space limits Entry and exit from classes will be staggered to allow for distancing and cleaning of the space Source: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/covid19-cms-assets/2021-03/english_socialmedia_Mar29.png

  20. A minimum amount of personal belongings will be allowed in the space Use assigned designated space for your belongings (marked on the floor) Participants should come dressed in their dance clothes Each dancer must bring their own labeled, filled water bottle from home Drinking from water fountains will not be permitted

  21. Safe Commuting Bicycle, walk, wheel or bring your own vehicle to class if possible If taking public transit: Avoid overcrowded areas of public transportation, like the waiting areas at transfer stops or crowded buses and trains Maintain a safe distance from other passengers Wear a face mask on public transit or if you are ride sharing Carry your own hand sanitizer to use after entering and exiting the bus or train

  22. Screening and Tracking Procedures All employees, contractors, students, supports and volunteers must sign a waiver form stating that they will not attend Propeller Dance activities if they are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or are under self-isolation Before each workday, dance class or rehearsal, all individuals must fill out a self-screening form This form can be filled out on your mobile phone, tablet, or computer Propeller Dance Health and Safety volunteers will take attendance for all in-person activities Records will be kept by Health and Safety volunteers to assist in contact tracing, if needed

  23. Scenario Scenario: A dancer/participant/support worker begins to experience symptoms of COVID-19 during Propeller Dance activities The Health and Safety volunteer present will follow protocol to Isolate the individual from others inside the facility Coordinate immediate pick-up by a parent/guardian Advise participant and/or their parent/guardian to seek medical advice and follow public health advice on return date Initiate communication protocols Regular class/rehearsal programming can continue unless directed otherwise by the Ottawa Public Health Authority

  24. The individual who has fallen ill and their family must comply with the following guidance regarding returning to Propeller activities. Keep the ill participant in isolation while awaiting COVID-19 test results Individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19 but who test negative should not return to Propeller Dance activities until at least 24 hours after their symptoms have resolved Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 will be required to provide a medical note or proof of a negative COVID-19 test to return to Propeller Dance activities In most instances, testing and isolation would only be recommended for contacts of a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis.

  25. Mental Health Considerations We recognize that COVID-19 has presented a challenging time when it comes to mental health. We encourage those who need support to use the following resources. The Counselling Connect service in Ottawa offers counselling support If immediate help is needed, individuals can reach out to the Ottawa Distress Centre at 613-238-331 or the Crisis Line at 613-722-6914

  26. Selection of Safe Rental Venues In our selection of spaces, we will consult health and safety audits when choosing rental venues for our programming. Rental Spaces must also meet the following criteria Dance space and bathrooms have a protocol for deep cleaning Little traffic in the common areas The room must be large enough to ensure proper social distancing (2 metres apart or more) The temperature of the room is between 21 and 25 degrees Celsius The air circulation system (HVAC) is upgraded to Ministry of Health recommendations There is a robust health and safety protocol in place

  27. Increased and Accessible Communication Propeller Dance will provide frequent updates as our organization adapts to the Province of Ontario s reopening plan If any policies or practices change, families and participants will be notified by email Propeller Dance will post accessible signage (large print, pictures) if rental facilities have not already done so
