Prophecies & Fulfillment Prophecy - a message from God Prophesy to proclaim a message from God And if you say in your heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD has not spoken? when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him. Deut. 18:21-22

Prophecies & Fulfillment *The Messiah would be born in Bethlehem Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem,saying, Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him. Matthew 2:1-2

Prophecies & Fulfillment *The Messiah would be born in Bethlehem And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David Luke 2:1-4

And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins. Matthew 1:18-23

The virgin s name was Mary.And having come in, the angel said to her, Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women! Re: Luke 1:26-38

Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, That her warfare is ended, That her iniquity is pardoned; The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord; Re: Isaiah 40:1-9 Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before Me Malachi 3:1

Prophecies & Fulfillment *Public ministry of Messiah / Light to Gentiles The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, Isaiah 62:1-2

The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined. Isaiah 9:1-2

Prophecies & Fulfillment *Public ministry of Messiah / Light to Gentiles So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue .and stood up to read. And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; Re: Luke 4:14-21

Prophecies & Fulfillment *Public ministry of Messiah / Light to Gentiles And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles: The people who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned. Prophecies & Fulfillment *The Messiah would perform miracles Say to those who are fearful-hearted, Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing Isaiah 35:6-6a

Prophecies & Fulfillment *The Messiah would perform miracles And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Re: Matthew 4:23-25

And great multitudes were gathered together to Him, so that He got into a boat and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
